[2/3 - 3/31] Yaeyama Minsah-ori Weaving Fair
Yaeyama Minsah-ori weaving is a traditional textile that originated in Taketomi Town, part of Okinawa’s Yaeyama Islands. Made from cotton and woven in a plain weave, its most distinctive feature is the symbolic pattern of five and four squares. This design carries a heartfelt message: "I-tsu (five) no yo (four) ma-de-mo, su-e-na-ga-ku…"—meaning "Forever and always." Historically, women gifted Minsah fabric to their beloved as a token of engagement.
This special fair features a beautifully curated collection of Minsah-ori weaving items, blending traditional craftsmanship with vibrant tropical-inspired colors and designs. From elegantly crafted bags to charming accessories, these unique pieces make perfect souvenirs or meaningful gifts.
